To prepare the dough, in the blender, place the flour, salt, butter, sugar, and egg and blend well until a crumbly dough forms. Remove from the blender and gather to form a disc, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest for half an hour to an hour.

To prepare the filling, in a frying pan, melt the butter, add the fennel, anise, and black seed and stir, then add the dates, cardamom, and cinnamon until the dates become soft. Remove to cool slightly, then shape into small balls.

Take pieces of the dough and hollow or shape them like kibbeh, place a ball of dates in the dough, seal and shape into a disc, then place in trays.

Brush the balls with a mixture of egg and milk and sprinkle with sesame.
