• Apple, large red or green, peeled, cored, and diced

   To prepare the apple filling, in a pot over medium heat, combine the apples, cinnamon, sugar, and cloves, and stir together for 5 minutes. Then add the apple cider vinegar and stir for an additional three minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.

   To prepare the pies, cut the puff pastry sheet into 8 roughly equal rectangles and place 4 pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

   Evenly distribute the apple filling over the four pieces, keeping away from the edges of the pastry and making the surface of the filling relatively flat.

   Place the remaining four pieces of puff pastry over the filling, seal the pies well at the edges, and place them in the freezer for two hours until firm.
