Put the sugar and yeast in a quarter cup of warm water without stirring.

Grease a bowl with a layer of oil using a brush, then place the dough in the bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it sit in a warm place for an hour until it doubles in size. Then punch it down and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, then shape them into balls and flatten them slightly to form the bagel shape.

Dip your finger in flour and make a hole in the center of each piece, about a third of the size of the bagel.
