Steps

    Soak the fava beans in cold water for 24 hours until they become soft. Then drain and let them dry on paper towels.

    Place the dried fava beans in a blender with cumin, dried coriander, baking powder, chili pepper, spices, and salt. Blend the ingredients until a soft paste is formed. Set the mixture aside to rest for 30 minutes.

    Add the onion, green onions, garlic, parsley, and fresh coriander to the ground fava bean paste and mix well with your hands.

    Form balls from this mixture to make falafel. Shape and flatten them slightly. Set the falafel patties aside to rest for 15 minutes.

    To prepare the tahini, mix the tahini with garlic and salt, then add olive oil and lime juice. If the tahini is too thick, thin it with warm water and then chill.

    Heat enough oil in a frying pan and fry the falafel patties. Be sure to fry them on both sides. When the patties are brown on both sides, remove them from the heat and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with tahini.
