Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
    1 cup
  • 3/4 cup sweetened shredded coconut
    0.8 cup
  • 1/2 cup sugar, chocolate cubes or chips
    0.5 cup
  • 3/4 cup water
    0.8 cup
  • 3 food coloring drops (optional)
    3 drops

Steps

  1. 1

Place the glutinous rice flour in a mixing bowl. Gradually add water while stirring continuously until a thick dough forms. If the dough is too wet, add more flour, and if it is too dry, add more water gradually, one tablespoon at a time. If you want to color the balls, add a few drops of food coloring to the dough and mix until the color is evenly distributed. Shape equal balls from the dough and fill each ball with a piece of sugar or a few chocolate chips. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.

Heat 8 cups of water on the stove and place the balls in it for a short time. Remove the ball from the water after it floats to the surface and place it in a bucket filled with ice to stop the cooking process. Drain and roll in shredded coconut and serve.
