Ingredients

Wash the lentils and place them in a pot over high heat with 3 cups of water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes or until the lentils are cooked.

Add salt and cumin, then add the bulgur to the lentils and stir the mixture. Let it simmer on low heat for 25 minutes.

Fry the onions in oil until golden brown, then remove from the oil and set aside.

Pour the onion oil over the mixture and stir gently with a fork, then let it sit for another 5 minutes on the heat.

Serve the mujadara in a large dish and garnish with the fried onions. Serve alongside a salad or yogurt.
