Steps

    Place the lentils in a pot over heat and cover them with water. Bring the mixture to a boil until the lentils are cooked.

    Meanwhile, fry the onion in a small frying pan until golden brown, then set aside.

    Add the white rice to the cooked lentils and let it cook on low heat while stirring continuously, then add salt to taste.

    When the rice is cooked, add the caramelized onions and continue stirring to prevent the lentils from sticking to the pot until the ingredients thicken and cook through. Before serving the Mujadara, add the olive oil and stir for a few minutes, then remove from heat and serve.
